15th FEB - Leadership in the mountains - Mountain Skills Session
Deciding where to go skiing is often the hardest part! Join us to build your understanding of using the weather forecast and your knowledge of conditions and terrain to decide where to ski and find the best snow!<br>We’ll use a day on skis with our IMFGA female mountain guides to look at navigation, route decisions and safe travel techniques in avalanche terrain. The aim is to build your confidence enabling you to take the lead both up and downhill rather than just follow, find all the good snow and get the most out of your days in the mountains.<br><br>Date: 15th February <br>Time: 8.30am – 5ish pm<br>Ski Level: Comfortable on and off-piste with previous ski touring experience, not a high fitness level this day will be a short journey with lots of workshops along the way.<br>Equipment: Ski touring set up, transceiver, shovel and probe, backpack, warm layers, picnic, water, thermos. 18th JAN - Ice Climbing Progression Sess
We are super excited to offer this amazing experience again! <br>Get to grips (again) with all the basics of Ice climbing skills and techniques in a supportive environment plus build on them. If natural conditions are on then we will build on those single pitches and gain mileage on the ice. BUT if we need to we will spend the day in an ice park with our guide Karen, climbing lots of routes and styles of ice, focusing on technique sessions and drills to help you learn whilst having fun.<br><br>Level: For those who have had a go before and want to gain more mileage on Single pitches. <br>1:4 guide client ratio.<br>Dates: 18th January <br>Time: 7:30am – 5pm (ish) <br>Departure zone: TBC<br>Kit: Harness, helmet, crampons, technical ice axes, gloves, hat, glasses, belay jacket, belay device, B3 boots. Full kit list sent out once you've signed up. <br><br>
